We are delighted to announce the signing of Bradley Barry, who goes straight into the squad for Tuesday night’s home game v Ebbsfleet United.
Brad is a local lad from Hastings who, despite his age of just 27, has a wealth of experience of football at a much higher level and he will make a big impact in our team. An athletic six-footer, he plays in a number of positions, and that versatility will prove invaluable in a long hard season ahead.
He has bought into the ethos of this unique football club, and I am delighted to get him signed and on board Danny Bloor
Barry came through the youth ranks at Brighton and Hove Albion, where he captained the development squad. Subsequently, his entire football career has been played at Football League and National League level: close to 200 appearances in total, at Swindon Town, Chesterfield, Barrow and Stevenage. Now he is officially a Sport, and brings his skills and experience to the SO Legal Stadium at Priory Lane.
Manager Danny Bloor is naturally delighted to have sealed the deal: “Brad has shown a true commitment and desire to want to play for Eastbourne Borough Football Club, despite interest from other football clubs higher in the Pyramid. He has bought into the ethos of this unique football club, and I am delighted to get him signed and on board. I am certain that Brad will become a fans’ favourite as the season unfolds.”
Brad, whose pre-season appearances at the Lane included an impressive shift in the 1-0 victory over AFC Wimbledon, commented “I have been here for some of the pre-season sessions and really like what the Gaffer is trying to do and the way he is going about it. There are some great players here and a fantastic team spirit. I am genuinely excited to be a part of it.”
