Eastbourne Borough have been drawn away to their West Sussex counterparts Worthing Football Club in the next round of this year’s FA Cup. The top two non-League clubs in Sussex will meet at Woodside Road on Saturday 1st October, kicking off at 3.00pm (subject to confirmation).
In Saturday’s second qualifying round ties, the Sports overcame Uxbridge FC without drama, while the Rebels came from behind at Slough Town to defeat the “Other Rebels” 3-1. The two clubs met on August Bank Holiday at Woodside Road, where Borough led for most of the game, but Worthing snatched a last minute equaliser after an Elliott Romain red card had left the visitors playing with ten men for the final half-hour.
The only other remaining Sussex interest lies with Lewes or Three Bridges, one of whom will progress via a replay on Tuesday (20th). A home tie with National North cliub Hereford FC awaits the victors.
Further details of Borough’s trip westwards will appear on the club website and social media in due course.
