Eastbourne Borough are sadden to announce that Stefan Vukoje has been ruled out for the season following an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

The forward joined in the summer after a spell abroad, and became an instant hit with his goal against Aldershot Town in pre-season as a trialist.

He then opened his account with a fine strike at Farnborough in our second league game, before sustaining an injury inside half an hour against Truro City on Saturday.

Following scans on Monday, the club can now confirm its worst fears.

“We’re all devastated for Stef,” said boss Mark Beard.

“He was really happy to get the opportunity to come back to England after a year or so away and he impressed us all over pre-season.

“It’s a devastating injury, but we’re all here to support him and do everything we can to keep him involved.

“We’ll give him the best medical care we can and he’ll be back before we know it.

“We’re all gutted for him, he’s a great character and we wish him a speedy recovery.”
