Eastbourne Borough FC are delighted to announce that Billy Wood has agreed to join the club as the new Women’s First Team Manager.
Billy arrives at Priory Lane after leaving Haywards Heath Town, where he won his final game in charge against Chesham United , 4-1, on Sunday.
The former CEO of Hastings United managed the U’s Women’s team to success with a win ratio of 85%, winning the Sussex County Women & Girls Football League Premier in 2020/21 and going on to only lose three league games across the next two seasons.
Wood departed Hastings at the end of last season to join Haywards Heath, and now arrives at Priory Lane looking to build on the foundations put in place by former boss Richard Dyson.
“It’s with delight that I accept the role of Eastbourne Borough Women Manager,” said Wood.
“The club has the infrastructure to be a force in the game and I’m excited to meet the team and get to work.
“Speaking with Simon (Leslie, Chairman) and Alan (Williams, CEO) there is no reason why we cannot create something special at Eastbourne Borough both short and long term.
“I am under no illusion there’s lots of work to be done on the pitch and it’s my job to make us competitive immediately to back the vision of the club.”
Billy takes charge of his first game this Sunday as the Women take on Horsham Sparrows in the SCWGFL Challenge Cup. Kick off is 2pm at Priory Lane and your support would be most welcome.
