Eastbourne Borough will be looking to get back to winning ways against Slough Town today (Saturday).
The Sports bounced back from last weekend’s loss at Weymouth to earn a point against a physical Dartford side on Tuesday night.
Slough go into the game at Priory Lane looking for three points themselves after suffering their first defeat in ten games at St. Albans in midweek.
Opposition
After losing six of their first seven games of the campaign, Slough bounced back with vengeance to go on a ten-game unbeaten run.
That run included wins in the Emirates FA Cup, as the Rebels upset the odds to beat Ebbsfleet United and reach the First Round.
They welcome Grimsby Town to Arbour Park next weekend, but will have to keep their focus on league business ahead of the tie.
However, they will be looking to get back on the unbeaten path after defeat in midweek.
Dan Bayliss and Josh Jackman goals had pulled the Rebels back from 2-0 down to be on level terms with St. Albans City at Clarence Park.
However, Ibby Akanbi’s second goal of the game with 15 minutes to go proved to be the difference as Saints edged it 3-2.
Head-to-head
P – 10; EBFC – 3; D – 3; STFC – 4
Slough just about edge the head-to-head record between the two teams, but have only beaten the Sports once since 2019.
That came courtesy of a 3-1 win at Arbour Park in 2021, where Max Worsfold scored twice for the hosts.
However, Borough completed the lead double over the Berkshire side last season. The Sports ran riot at Arbour Park in November 2022, with Jake Hutchinson scoring twice in a 5-1 rout. Mitch Dickenson, Charlie Walker and Leone Gravata got the other goals.
And Danny Bloor’s men followed that up with a 2-0 win in March, with Walker and Norman Wabo on target at Priory Lane.
