The heavy fog put pay to this fixture at half-time on the East Sussex coast.
Taunton Town had been leading 2-1 at Priory Lane before the weather drew in along the south coast, with referee Lewis Sandoe calling a halt to proceedings after a twenty minute break after the half-time interval.
Mark Beard made four changes to the team that were beaten by Torquay on Tuesday. In came skipper Brad Barry after an injury lay-off, whilst Leone Gravata, Archie Procter and Decarrey Sheriff also started.
On the pitch, the visitors – without a win since beating Eastbourne at the end of September – were quickly into their stride and went in front after just four minutes. A long ball forward allowed Nick McCootie to take advantage of some indecisiveness and he slotted past Harrison Foulkes from a tight angle.
Borough looked for a response, with Gravata firing just over from 30 yards but it was Taunton who doubled their lead midway through the opening period.
Foulkes initially did well to keep out Ollie Chamberlain’s strike, but the wing-back cut the rebound across to Zac Smith who couldn’t miss.
The Sports needed a response – and the home side found some inspiration. Dan Ball blocked Callum Kealy’s goalbound effort before the hosts did get themselves back into the game. Leone Gravata’s low ball towards the near post was glanced in off the toe of Louis Collins to beat Dan Lavercombe.
Decarrey Sheriff then went close to drawing Borough level as the hosts dominated the latter stages, before Brad Barry saw his header saved at point-blank range by Lavercombe.
That concluded the first half, which proved to be all the action supporters would get as conditions deteriorated at half-time.
