Eastbourne Borough are delighted to announce the signing of forward Jake Hutchinson on loan from Queen of the South subject to international clearance.

Hutchinson returns to Priory Lane after a six-month loan spell from Colchester United last season, where he scored 13 goals in all competitions.

That form saw him join Aldershot Town for the second half of last term, scoring four times for the National League side.

After finding first team opportunities limited with Colchester, he joined Scottish League One side Queen of the South on deadline day this summer.

However, his appearances across the border have been largely restricted to coming from the bench – scoring once this season – and he comes back to the Lane for the rest of the season.

And the Sports will be hoping Jake can rediscover that goalscoring form that made him a popular figure during the first half of 2022/23.

Boss Adam Murray said: “We are really pleased to get Jake back in the building. He is someone with a proven track record at this level.

“He is an Eastbourne lad who understands the importance of club to the town and he was very enthusiastic about joining our project.

“A big thank you goes to Simon for not only supporting me but also for his help in getting the deal done.”

With twelve league goals over 19 starts in last year’s National League South, only Shiloh Remy scored more for the Sports last season.
