Eastbourne Borough are excited to announce the return of midfielder Alfie Bendle to Priory Lane.
The 19-year-old midfielder joins on an initial one-month loan from EFL League Two side Forest Green Rovers and is available for tomorrow’s trip to Bath City.
The box-to-box playmaker is no stranger to Borough fans after a loan spell from AFC Wimbledon was cut short after 11 games having been recalled by his parent club.
Bendle made 17 first team appearances for the Dons having joined in 2021, and left for Forest Green Rovers in the summer.
“I am very pleased to get this signing over the line,” said boss Adam Murray.
“I have been excited by all of the signings we have made so far, and this one gives me a real buzz. Alfie is a proper midfielder who is tenacious without the ball, but excellent in possession.
“He’s a real all-round midfielder and despite his young age he has played a lot of mens football.
“He plays with an experienced head on his shoulders, and is a great addition to the group.
He has played eight games for the EFL side this campaign, and boosts Murray’s options in the middle of the park for the upcoming schedule. He will wear number 14 for The Sports.
