Eastbourne Borough are excited to announce the signing of experienced forward Matt Green in a deal running to the end of the season.

The 37-year-old centre forward has over 170 career goals to his name, with his most prolific spell coming at Mansfield Town where he scored 56 goals in just 92 appearances.

It was with the Stags where Green came across boss Adam Murray, with the Borough gaffer playing with and then managing Green during the forward’s two spells at the club.

The once England C international came through the ranks at Bristol City before he had spells with Newport County and Cardiff City.

After making 75 appearances for Oxford United over two spells, he joined Mansfield – initially on loan – in 2011.

Green then made the move up to the Championship in 2013/14 with Birmingham City, but returned to Mansfield upon his release in 2015.

Since then he has had spells with Lincoln City, Salford City and Grimsby Town – who he left at the end of 2020/21.

He joins the Sports from Newport City in the Welsh League and will be looking to hit the ground running.
