In their penultimate pre-season game, Eastbourne Borough FC experienced a narrow 1-0 defeat against AFC Totton at Totton’s home ground on the evening of 30th July.

The decisive moment came from a penalty awarded to AFC Totton after a long ball over the top found their forward, who managed to get to the ball before Wright could intervene. The resulting penalty was calmly converted, setting the tone for a closely contested match.

Despite Eastbourne’s efforts, they found it difficult to break down Totton’s defence, with their keeper making a crucial save to maintain the lead. The game saw a flurry of yellow cards, with seven bookings highlighting the competitive nature of the encounter.

Eastbourne Borough FC, while solid in defence, struggled to create significant scoring opportunities. Centre back Bird delivered a strong performance, effectively battling Totton’s striker in a physical and tactical duel.
