Eastbourne Borough will be looking to extend their good run of form when they travel to Slough Town this afternoon.
The Sports are eight National League South games unbeaten – and travel to Arbour Park having not conceded for 595 minutes.
That comes after a comfortable 2-0 win away at Tonbridge Angels in midweek which moved Adam Murray’s side up to third in the National League South standings.
Last Time Out
The Sports moved within two points of top spot with a 2-0 win away at Tonbridge Angels, with the hosts ending with nine men.
The drama started as early as the third minute when Garrett Kelly was sent off for violent conduct towards Brayden Johnson as Borough looked to defend the first corner of the contest.
And Borough made their numerical advantage count – with Kai Innocent breaking the deadlock before John Shamalo doubled the lead on his full debut for the club.
Gianluca Botti then saw red for a second bookable offence late on, meaning Borough were able to see the game out at Longmead Stadium with confidence.
The Opposition
Slough Town will be hoping to put a difficult couple of games behind them and bounce back in their first home game of 2025.
Scott Davies’ side had a year-long unbeaten record at Arbour Park come to an end in September, and will be looking to return to winning ways after losing heavily in their last three outings.
A 5-1 loss away at Boreham Wood wasn’t the New Year’s Day Slough supporters would have wanted, before they bowed out of the FA Trophy 4-0 away at Kidderminster Harriers.
The Rebels looked to be back on track when they drew level on the hour mark away at Hemel Hempstead last weekend, but three goals inside the final twenty minutes saw Slough beaten 4-1 at Vauxhall Road.
Head to Head
The Sports have left Arbour Park with at least a point from their last three visits – including last season when Moussa Diarra’s effort was cancelled out by Leon Chambers-Parillon late on in a 1-1 draw in March.
The return fixture back in September saw the points shared once again, with Alfie Pavey drawing Borough level in the first half at The ReachTV Stadium after John Gilbert had given the Rebels the lead. Both teams had chances to win the game, but ultimately it was a point apiece in East Sussex.
The Sports were last victorious at Arbour Park back in November 2022 – with Jake Hutchinson scoring twice to stun the home crowd. Mitch Dickenson, Leone Gravata and Charlie Walker were all also on target as Borough secured a big 5-1 win.
