Eastbourne Borough will be looking to make home advantage count when they face Hampton & Richmond under the lights at The ReachTV Stadium.
The Sports are the only team not to have lost at home in the National League South, but come up against the team that ended Torquay’s previously unbeaten home record a fortnight ago.
Both teams, though, will be looking to bounce back after suffering defeats on the weekend.
Whilst the Sports were dealt a blow with two late goals seeing Torquay end their unbeaten run of late, Hampton lost only their second game in the last twelve National League South fixtures as they fell to a 3-1 loss at home to Truro.
It was the Beavers’ first home defeat since October, with Alan Julian’s side closing the gap on the top eight in recent weeks.
However, that gap stands at eight points after losing to the Cornwall side, whilst Borough slip to sixth in wake of their battling defeat at Plainmoor.
The top seven are as close as ever – with Truro six points off top spot Dorking with two games in hand – and Borough four points off the Wanderers having played one game fewer.
And with both Boreham Wood and Maidstone United to come before February’s end, Borough will be out to get back on the saddle ahead of a busy few weeks ahead.
The task won’t be easy though. The Beavers have won four of the last five meetings between the two teams, including a 3-1 win at The Beveree earlier this season.
George Alexander had put the Sports ahead in the capital back in October, but three goals in a thirteen minute spell at the start of the second half took the game away from the visitors.
Jack Taylor, Mauro Vilhete and Jake Gray got the goals as Hampton prevailed. Beavers fans will also have fond memories of visiting East Sussex, having won 5-0 here on the opening day of the 2021/22 season. However, Billy Vigar headed home to win 1-0 on the opening day of last campaign.
Another close game is anticipated, but Borough will be hoping their home form can spur them on to three points at The ReachTV Stadium.
