Eastbourne Borough Under 18s made it three games unbeaten after a 2-2 draw away at Three Bridges in the Isthmian Youth League South.

Aurie De Carteret’s side were on the front foot in the first half at Jubilee Fields, but a combination of missed chances and good goalkeeping kept them out.

They then had Toby Whiteside to thank for not going behind, making a fine save to stop Jimmy Holman turning a low cross into his own net before producing a great stop when one on one with a forward.

Whilst at the other end, Archie Grant saw an effort come back off the post whilst Matt Searle and Theo Coleman-Standen also went close.

It was the latter who then broke the deadlock early in the second half, firing a low drive beyond the reach of the goalkeeper and in off the post.

However, an own goal quickly brought Three Bridges level before the game turned on its head as a low shot got the better of Whiteside.

But despite the setback, Borough applied pressure in search of an equaliser – and it came as the clock hit 90. A corner was cleared out as far as substitute Alfie Crouch and his low effort from 18 yards out found the bottom corner.

The young Sports return to action on Monday night (9th) when Whitehawk are the visitors to The ReachTV Stadium. Kick off 7.45pm and entry is FREE.
