Seven games to go in the National League South – and Eastbourne Borough will be determined to continue their momentum.

The Sports made it six games unbeaten in the National League South last weekend with a 2-0 win at Aveley – moving up to third in the National League South standings.

The Sports were dominant in the first half at Parkside, and after goals from Jason Adigun and George Alexander took a two-goal lead into the break.

After a much scrappier second half, Borough secured an eighteenth league clean sheet of the campaign and moved up a congested table after results elsewhere went in favour of Adam Murray’s side.

Truro City left Enfield Town empty-handed, despite leading 2-1 in second half stoppage time, whilst Torquay got the better of Dorking Wanderers.

Just two points now separate Truro in second and Torquay in sixth – with the Sports third on 71 points – five behind Worthing who have a game in hand.

The Rebels face a trip to Welling this afternoon, before playing that game in hand at Hornchurch this Tuesday night.

The big-hitting games continue to come thick and fast, though, with Boreham Wood facing Dorking today – just two goals separate the pair in the table in fourth and fifth.

And that comes before the Sports travel to Meadowbank to face Marc White’s side next weekend.

With twists and turns aplenty though, Borough can’t afford to look forwards and instead need to focus on the present. This afternoon they welcome Farnborough to The ReachTV Stadium, with Spencer Day’s side sitting ninth in the standings – nine points off the top seven.

Boro have had a season of mixed results – winning 16 and losing 15 of the 39 league outings to date.

Back in August, the Sports suffered a 2-0 defeat in Hampshire – with Richard Chin and Taylor Clark on target either side of half-time.

Murray, then, will know of the threat that the Yellows can pose, and after seeing off Welling United last Saturday the visitors will be looking for back-to-back wins.

Enjoy the game!
