Last Sunday saw Eastbourne Borough host its annual Pan Disability Football Tournament at the ReachTV Stadium, with a record number of teams battling it out throughout the day.

With several of our community squads joining in as well, the event had a unique blend of boys, girls, pan disability and adult teams from right across the local area, showing inclusion at its very best here at Priory Lane.

In the morning our junior tournament was enjoyed by children in key stages 1-3 and then in the afternoon our senior tournament saw some highly competitive games for those in key stage 4 to adult.

The sun shone, the music played, food, flags and footballs were everywhere, the raffles were both hugely popular as were photos with replica Champions League and FA Cup trophies, and even Sammy Sunshine joined in on the action with our juniors!

Our amazing ‘Spirit of Football’ Disability Coaching Team did a brilliant job in planning, setting up and then delivering the event for as many local children as possible that don’t normally get the opportunity to play in tournaments.

Every player ended the day with a winners medal and personal certificate, showing that football has the power to unite and bring together youngsters of all ages and abilities in a relaxed and inclusive space that brings them joy, structure and team spirit.

So a huge thank you to all of the clubs and coaches that created the memories and made the magic happen.

“A beautiful day of Unity Through Football”
