Eastbourne Borough travel to Dartford this afternoon (19 July) as they continue preparations for the new Enterprise National League South season.
The Sports kick off the new league campaign in just 21 days time, and between now and then have five more pre-season fixtures – starting with a trip to Princes Park.
Dartford are no strangers to Borough fans having been in the National League South for nine seasons until relegation to the Isthmian Premier in 2024/25.
Darts looked set to bounce back at the first attempt – going into the final day of the season at the top of the table. However, a 4-1 defeat at home to Carshalton coupled with wins for Horsham and Billericay Town meant they finished in third spot.
Adrian Pennock’s side then prevailed 4-3 after extra time against Cray Valley PM in the play-off semi-final in front of over 2,000 at Princes Park to set up a Final against Kent rivals Dover Athletic – but it was the Whites who came out on top with a 2-0 win.
For The Sports, Matt Gray has had a full week of training following last weekend’s opening game at Farnham Town. Whilst no new names have been announced, the Borough boss will no doubt take the opportunity to look at a few trialists in Kent this afternoon as he looks to bolster his squad.
Kick off is 3pm at Princes Park, with tickets available to purchase on the gate. Adults: £10, Concessions: £5, Youth (13-16): £2, Under 12: £1.
