Jimmy Holman’s second half goal earned Eastbourne Borough Under 18s a point as they came from behind against Three Bridges.
In a topsy-turvy first half, the Sports went behind early before a brace from Lincoln Shearing put them ahead.
However, they would go into half-time trailing after a goal in stoppage time gave Bridges a 3-2 lead.
But the Sports fought back, and got the point they deserved when Holman bundled home with 15 minutes to go.
Looking to build on the 5-1 win over Whitehawk last week, the young Sports were given an early blow when they fell behind within two minutes.
In the windy conditions at Priory Lane, the visitors whipped a corner in from the left and in the gusty weather the ball evaded everyone and beat Ethan Pike.
However, the Sports’ heads didn’t drop and they drew level ten minutes later. Sam Sharma did well in midfield and Tyler Wood played the ball through to Shearing who broke clear of the defence before slotting past the keeper.
And Borough were then given the chance to go in front just before the half hour mark. Wood broke down the left hand side before cutting inside and drawing a foul inside the area, with the referee pointing to the spot. Shearing stepped up, and converted to give the Sports the advantage.
But that lead lasted barely a minute when a long ball cut through the Borough defence and a low ball across goal was tapped in from close range.
Just when it looked like the game would go into the break on level terms, Bridges went back in front. Jay Thomas did well to block the initial shot, but the Sports defence failed to react to the loose ball and from a tight angle the away team forward saw his shot go in off the inside of the post.
Borough needed to bounce back after the interval, and they had a great chance to draw level but Jacob Hill saw his effort well saved by the keeper.
The Sports needed to be patient as they enjoyed more possession as they pushed for an equaliser, and it came with fifteen minutes to go.
Jack Dalton whipped in a corner from the right and it picked out Holman at the far post and he bundled home through a crowded penalty area.
Neither team really created a chance to win the game as time wore on, and the points were shared.
