Whilst our Women concluded their league campaign with an impressive 7-0 victory, our Development Squad dropped points for only the third time this season as they were held to a draw at Ringmer.
However, they dug deep to earn that point after ending the game a player down after Sophia Burnipp was sent off. Amelia Bowerman and Ruby Starkey were on target for the Sports but were pegged back by the hosts as it finished 2-2.
The Under 16 Youth Red side continued their perfect record as they beat the Under 16 Black side 3-0 at Priory Lane. Leo Ginger, Jude Jackson and Samuel Gower got the goals for the league leaders, who are two points clear at the top with two games in hand on nearest challengers Burgess Hill Town.
There were goals galore in the Under 16 Girls game at Withdean Youth. Sophie Jessop, Michaela Pena and a brace from Phoebe Michie had put the Sports 4-2 ahead at half-time, but a second half onslaught saw the hosts prevail 11-4 and inflict only Borough’s third league defeat of the season.
The Under 15s saw their match postponed, whereas the Under 14s Red saw their title hopes dealt a blow as they were beaten by fellow contenders Three Bridges, 3-0.
However, the Under 14 White side came from behind to beat Peacehaven & Telscombe at Priory Lane. Oliver Webb, Ellis skipper and William Moore got the goals for the Sports who made it back-to-back wins.
