Last Saturday we welcomed some very special visitors to Priory Lane – 50 Beavers, Cubs and Scouts from 11th Eastbourne (St Richards) Langney Scout Group.

Based at their Scout HQ next to St Richard’s Church in nearby Priory Road, we were thrilled to see them all march down the road together to our stadium in order to enjoy our 1-0 victory versus Hemel Hempstead at the weekend.

The link between the Sports and our local Scout group goes back many years, with our founding chairman Len Smith initiating one of our first ever community initiatives by donating much needed funds to the 11th Eastbourne Scout Group when it first started.

Such was their appreciation that they adopted our club colour of red for their scarves as a token of gratitude for the club’s generosity.

Therefore to mark the occasion the Scout Group and leaders joined our Under 10 squad on the pitch at half time for a unique photo opportunity, and we would like to thank them all for their wonderful support and for cheering us on to a fabulous victory!
