Eastbourne Borough will be looking to continue their good run of form when they take on Truro City tonight.
Seven points out of nine have moved the Sports within three points of National League South safety ahead of their trip to the West country.
And the Sports will be heading to Gloucester City to face a Truro side just four points ahead of them.
Last Time Out
The Sports returned to winning ways on Saturday with a fully deserved win over Taunton Town.
Brad Barry had a header well saved by Lloyd Irish early on, before the visitors were denied themselves when Nat Jarivs hit the post from close range.
Jack Clarke hit the post for the Sports, before Borough broke the deadlock before half-time.
Decarrey Sheriff found David Sesay on the left, who cut inside onto his right foot and picked out the top corner from outside the area.
And with Taunton pushing for an equaliser as time wore on in the second half, Yahya Bamba got the ball inside his own half before racing clear and one on one with Irish made no mistake.
The Opposition
Truro City are the ‘hosts’ tonight and come into the game on the back of seven defeats in their last ten games – although they have won two of their last three games.
The White Tigers prevailed 2-1 away at St. Albans City on Saturday. Goals from Rocky Neal and Adam Porter put the visitors two goals up at Clarence Park, with Zane Banton’s late effort proving to be a consolation for the Saints.
With eight of their remaining eleven home games at home, they will be hoping to take to Gloucester’s 3G pitch well and use that to their advantage as they look to move away from the drop zone.
Head-to-Head
If the 13 previous meetings are anything to go by, tonight promises to be a tight match. The Sports have won just four matches prior to this evening, with Truro also winning four. There have been five draws between the two teams.
However, you have to go back to 2017 for Borough’s last win against the White Tigers – with Ryan Worrall’s late strike giving them a 1-0 win at Treyew Road.
Borough will be looking to get revenge on the reverse fixture, which saw Truro leave Priory Lane with a 1-0 win. Despite dominating both possession and chances, it was Adam Porter’s sucker-punch that saw the visitors leave with all three points.
