Eastbourne Borough’s Under 18 side were made to pay for individual mistakes as they left Worthing empty-handed.
The league leaders showed why they look set to be the Champions with a clinical display at Woodside Road.
Things could have been so different for the Sports, though, with Lincoln Shearing missing a great chance within the first two minutes.
Stanley Berry was the main threat for Worthing, and he scored five goals for the hosts, who eventually ran out 8-2 winners.
After trailing 5-1 at half-time, the Sports produced a more confident second half display, and got back into the game through Jake Prodger’s second of the match.
However, the hosts ultimately had too much and further goals from Jack McLelland, Ben Royall and Frankie Spiteri sealed a comfortable win for the home side.
