Eastbourne Borough could secure their National League South status tonight when they make the long trip to Weston-super-Mare.
The Sports know that three points will guarantee their status at Step Two next season, completing a remarkable great escape.
It’s been a drastic turnaround for Borough in recent months, with the team sitting sixth in the form guide over the last ten games.
Last Time Out
Adam Murray’s side took a massive step towards survival with a 3-0 win over Chippenham Town on Saturday.
Sam Beard produced a neat finish inside two minutes to put Borough on their way, before Moussa Diarra’s bullet header doubled their advantage before half time.
And Yahya Bamba scored his fifth goal in just nine games to round off a perfect afternoon in the last game at Priory Lane this season.
From The Manager
Adam Murray: “There is still a long way to go. We have to focus on ourselves.
“As long as we take care of our business, everything around us will look after itself and that doesn’t change.
“We have to go again, we have to up the standards and the intensity.
“The players have to give everything.”
The Opposition
Weston-super-Mare come into tonight’s game with only pride to pay for, and Scott Bartlett’s side will be looking to move up the table.
The Seagulls still have three games to go ahead of tonight’s game, with a trip to Taunton on Thursday night before ending the season at Worthing on Saturday.
They go into tonight on the back of a run of inconsistent form, with two wins, one draw and two defeats from the last five games.
That includes defeat at home to Aveley on Saturday. Harry Gibbs and Siju Odelusi goals were enough for the Millers to leave Somerset with a 2-1 win, with Bailey Kempster on target for the hosts.
