Eastbourne Borough welcome Hashtag United to The ReachTV Stadium for their final test of pre-season ahead of the new National League South season.
The Sports will be looking to continue their momentum from Tuesday night’s win over Dulwich Hamlet as they face fellow Isthmian Premier outfit Hashtag.
Performances have improved game on game for Matt Gray’s new-look side, which culminated in them sealing their first pre-season win in midweek.
Pemi Aderoju scored both goals in the first half for The Sports, whilst Danny Mills had halved Borough’s advantage before the break.
The second half produced little in terms of clear chances as both teams rotated with substitutes, with Borough winning 2-1 at Champion Hill.
Hashtag United are preparing for their third season in the Isthmian Premier after accelerating through the non-league pyramid. Formed in 2016 as an exhibition side, they joined the English football league system, placed in the Eastern Counties League.
They won the Division One South title at the first time of asking, before being promoted to the North Division of the Isthmian League based on the points per game accumulated over the two abandoned seasons during COVID.
After a season of consolidation, Jay Devereux’s side won 32 of the 38 league games to win the Isthmian North title and secure promotion to the Premier in 2022/23. Last season Hashtag finished 8th – 12 points off the play-off places.
