Powerful defender Phipps joined the Sports in November 2025 and became Tommy Widdrington’s second new signing. The 27-year-old joins from National League side Sutton United, having previously spent seven years with Dagenham & Redbridge.

Having spent his early career journeying around a number of non-league Kent clubs, Phipps established Victoria Road as his long-term home – with his tenacity and tirelessness helping him earn a contract extension just six months after joining. Despite a couple of serious injuries at the start of his Daggers career, he racked up almost 150 appearances in East London.
