Eastbourne Borough Women are preparing for their first action of 2026 as Frimley Green travel to Connect Management Stadium on Sunday in the London & South East Regional Women’s Division One South.
Chris Day’s side bring up the halfway mark of their league campaign with Sunday’s fixture, and are yet to be beaten in their first season at Step Six of the Women’s Football Pyramid.
They sit two points off Bognor Regis Town and Saltdean United Development, who have 27 points having played four and two games more than the Sports heading into the weekend.
Borough Women progressed to the Quarter-Final of the L&SERWFL Trophy last weekend as Frimley Green failed to raise a side for their Second Round tie, but they will be hoping to return to match action this weekend.
Manager Day said ahead of the game: “With a couple of weeks off it’s been a chance to rest some tired legs and regroup ahead of the second part of the season.
“It’s vital now to push on in the league, and we know that no one can afford to drop points.”
“There are clearly 3 other teams in contention for the league title alongside us – Bognor, Saltdean and Leatherhead. It’s vital now to push on in the league, and we know that no one can afford to drop points.
“With us still in the League Trophy, County Cup, National Midweek Cup and Eastbourne FA Cup we know it’s going to be a very busy period and the squad is very much ready for the challenge!”
When the two teams met earlier in the season, it was Borough who ran out 7-2 winners. Charlotte Gurr scored a hat-trick at Frimley Green Rec, with further goals from Molly Hill, Megan Griffiths, Becky Simmons and Kellie Larkin.
Entry is FREE at Connect Management Stadium, with kick off at 3pm, so come and get behind Borough Women this Sunday!
