Tayt joined The Sports in the summer of 2025, and was one of Matt Gray’s first signings. Having earned a two-year scholarship deal at Blackpool, Trusty earned his first professional contract with the League One side in January 2022. Loan spells with Radcliffe and Hyde United followed, before he gained experience of the EFL – joining then League Two Hartlepool United on loan in 2023, where he made four appearances.

After signing a new one-year deal with Blackpool in the summer of 2023, he played for the Under 21s for a full season before making the switch down south to join Maidstone in September 2024. The 21-year-old midfielder played over 30 games for the Stones last season, including 90 minutes against Worthing in the Play-Off Eliminator win.
